Join us in the second edition of Youth Summer Fest, a team volunteering project from the 15th of July until the 15th of August in Timisoara, Romania, the European Capital of Culture in 2023!

What is the festival about? 

Last year we celebrated the European Year of Youth through one month of activities organised by over 150 volunteers in Timisoara. This year, in order to offer a range of activities for youth during Timisoara’s programme as a European Capital of Culture, we are looking for 60 international volunteers with specific skills, based on the kind of events already planned for the festival. 

What will I gain if I participate? 

If you choose to join us, you will have the opportunity to: 

  • implement, facilitate and promote events in the youth centres or public places of Timisoara
  • learn about tools for developing active citizenship and youth participation 
  • discover various forms of volunteering and methods of community engagement and community building 
  • meet other young people from different countries and cultures 

We are meant to be if you: 

-are between the ages of 18 and 30;  

-speak English at a conversational level;  

-have a residence in one of the ESC partner countries;

-are enthusiastic about events facilitating and promoting.

Timeline

May 15:  deadline for non-EU applicants

May 31:  deadline for EU applicants

July 16-17:  teambuilding activities

July 18-August 12:  activities organising

August 12:  International Youth Day 

August 13-14:  evaluation

August 15:  the end

 

You will be split into teams of a minimum of 10 people, based on your skills and interests. 

You will have to choose between 3 main areas of activity: facilitation (preparing and delivering the activities), media & promotion (creating content and promoting the festival in online&offline), and logistics (preparing the spaces and equipment). 

The volunteering activity consists of 5 working days/week, 30-38 hours/week.

 

Accommodation will be provided in one of the student dorms of Timisoara. Facilities: shared bedrooms, bathrooms & kitchen. 

Food allowance: 5 EUR/day.  

Pocket money: 3 EUR/day.

Travel*: expenses will be reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ distance band. You will find all the information regarding this in the info pack. 

*visa fees, if applicable, are not covered
