Are you passionate about social justice, gender equality, and migration issues? Do you want to explore migration through a feminist lens and contribute to creating more inclusive and equitable systems?
If so, the Beyond Borders training course is the opportunity for you!
Organized by the Timiș County Youth Foundation in Timișoara, Romania, this training course will take place from March 4th to March 8th, 2025. It aims to address the unique challenges faced by women and marginalized groups in migration processes, while empowering young people to advocate for migrant rights and challenge stereotypes.
Why a Feminist Perspective on Migration?
Migration is a deeply complex global issue, and when examined through a feminist lens, it reveals stark inequalities that disproportionately affect women. Women migrants often face gender-based violence, exploitation, human trafficking, and limited access to essential services like healthcare, education, and legal protection. These challenges are further exacerbated by discriminatory policies and social norms that restrict their autonomy and economic opportunities.
This training course will:
- Highlight the intersectionality of migration, exploring how gender, race, and class intersect to shape migrant experiences.
- Empower young people to advocate for more inclusive migration policies.
- Address gender-based violence in migration contexts and promote solidarity with migrant communities.
What Will You Gain?
By participating in this training course, you will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of intersectionality and migration.
- Analyze feminist perspectives on migration and explore the role of women in migration histories and narratives.
- Build skills to advocate for migrant rights and support vulnerable groups.
- Enhance your cultural awareness and appreciation for diversity.
