Youth Summer Fest returned in 2024 with its 3rd edition, in which 43 volunteers worldwide spread color and culture in Timișoara, Lugoj, Jebel, and Sânpetru Mare.

CALENDAR: 

Timișoara 

  • August 1st, 18:30, Youth House – SpeakEasy Summit: Elevate your public speaking. Activity dedicated to developing presentation and public speaking skills. 
  • August 2nd, 18:30, Youth House – Are you OK? Well-being practices. Workshop for improving productivity, achieving goals, and developing a positive outlook on life, including self-awareness exercises. 
  • August 2nd, 19:00, Behind the House (at the Youth House) – Duolingo Cafe. An evening of knowledge and challenges, dedicated to lovers of learning foreign languages ​​through the Duolingo app. Entry is based on the streak in the app. 
  • August 3rd, 19:00, Anton Scudier Central Park – Come discover Gymkhana! A series of activities and competitive challenges, in a chain, in the style of an obstacle course. 
  • August 4th, 19:00, Anton Scudier Central Park – Yoga and wellness circle. A relaxing yoga session, guided meditation, and discussion in the great outdoors. Participants are asked to bring their own mattresses. 
  • August 7th, 18:00, Casa Tineretului Youth House – Cultural trivia night. This an activity which will test your general knowledge about other countries, their histories, and traditional elements, competing in teams
  • August 8th, 19:00, Carmen Sylva Park – The world is my home. An afternoon celebrating multiculturalism through a picnic that includes discussions, a trivia session, and a tasting. Participants are invited to bring a dish to share with others
  • August 9th, 19:00, Unirii Square – Jamming in Timișoara. Jam session in the heart of the city, for young musicians. All genres of music are welcome. 
  • August 10th, Youth House – International Youth Day. Thematic workshops and concerts.


Lugoj

  • August 2nd, 18:00, Lugoj Youth Center – Colorful connections: Lugoj outdoor mural project. The participants will create a mural as a team, giving birth to a community art project
  • August 3rd, 18:00, Lugoj Youth Center – Feel your colors. Explore the concept of art therapy by creating something with elements from nature. No previous experience is necessary. 
  • August 4th, 19:00, Lugoj Youth Center – Speak Up! A workshop on delivering presentations with confidence, controlling emotions, and blending verbal and non-verbal language
  • August 7th, 7:30 p.m., Lugoj Youth Center – CODA movie night. Outdoor film screening on the theme of life and solidarity in deaf communities
  • August 9th, 18:00, Lugoj Youth Center – Play and connect: well-being for youth. A dynamic and interactive workshop to induce our well-being through the joy of play. We will relive both childhood games and international games
  • August 11th, 18:00, Lugoj Youth Center – ECOhunt. Team up with other young people for a scavenger hunt on the theme of environmental sustainability. You will learn more about recycling, the environment, and the problems it faces

Jebel

  • August 3rd, 18:30, “Efta Botoca” National House – Screen Dreams: From Slum to Stardom. Film screening, followed by discussions on the cultural aspects, values​​, and themes presented
  • August 9th, 18:30, “Efta Botoca” National House – Multi-sport competition. A competitive event for sports lovers, with team challenges and lots of fun
  • August 11th, 18:00, “Efta Botoca” National House – Escape code. A historical mystery hunt where participants will use their critical thinking, problem-solving, observation, and teamwork skills while having fun together

Sânpetru Mare 

  • August 1st, 18:00, Central Park – Sportacus. Sports tournaments, dances, and games.
  • August 8th, 18:00, Library Court – Travel & taste. An evening of cultural celebration, where we will taste traditional dishes from various places and countries. We will share traditions, treats, and stories.
