We are excited to announce the start of a new project that promises to generate positive change in our community. “Youth Impact through Community Festivals (YICF)”, financed by the Erasmus+ program, is a collaborative effort between partners from Italy, Norway, Spain and Romania, of which FITT is also a part.

What is YICF?

YICF aims to activate communities while strengthening social cohesion through the organization of festivals. By capitalizing on festivals as catalysts for interaction and collaboration, the project aims to support young people in contributing to community life.

What does the project propose?

The general objectives of the project consist of:
• Training 8 youth workers to support young people in coordinating local events.
• Training 20 young people, aged between 16 and 24, to develop and organize activities in the community.
• Involvement of four diverse local communities from partner countries in a transnational project.
• Collaboration with local partner organizations to ensure inclusiveness and accessibility in developing events and disseminating project results.
• Promoting inclusion and access to cultural, social and civic events.
• Design and development of a set of tools promoting good practices for the organization and communication of inclusive and accessible local events.
• Increasing the participation of young people in the community.

The project started with a meeting of the partners involved in the project, hosted at the Youth House of Timișoara, during which the details regarding the implementation of the project and the activities within it were established.

As future activities, the project will organize:
• A training dedicated to youth workers: Eight youth workers from the partner countries will participate in a training in Norway, to improve their skills in supporting the involvement of young people in the coordination and implementation of local events.
Nine-month learning experience: Youth workers and youth activists from the target communities will explore the concepts of participation, inclusion, equality and accessibility.
Development of local festivals: Young people with initiative will benefit from training sessions in organizing festivals.
Implementation of local festivals: In the summer of 2025, four festivals will be implemented with the involvement of young people and youth workers, contexts that increase social cohesion and inclusion.
Evaluation meeting and closing of the project: The end of the project will be marked by a meeting to reflect on the results, the impact and the possibilities for the continuation of the project.
