SPOT – A new project for young people in Timiș County

The Timiș County Youth Foundation (FITT), as a partner, together with the Timiș County Employment Agency (AJOFM Timiș), as partnership leader, is launching a new project dedicated to young people in the county: "SPOT – Public Employment Service for Young People."

The main objective of the project is to support the integration and professional success of 1,600 young people aged between 14 and 30, with a focus on those in vulnerable situations: NEETs (young people who are not in employment, education, or training) or young people at risk, young people from rural areas, young Roma, and other young people with limited access to education and employment services.

A local ecosystem to support young people

Running for a period of 36 months (June 1, 2025 – May 31, 2028), SPOT contributes to the creation of a local youth ecosystem that supports the effective transition of young people from education to employment, in line with the current needs and dynamics of the labor market. The project brings a strong dimension of social inclusion, innovation in methods of working with young people, and the development of essential skills for professional integration.

A county-wide network of services

FITT will contribute to the development of a network bringing together community actors to identify and recruit young beneficiaries. The network will contribute to the creation of a coordinated support system for young people, reducing barriers to access resources and services and ensuring integrated support, especially for those who are vulnerable.

Throughout the project, compliance with horizontal principles will be ensured: equal opportunities, accessibility, environmental protection, and non-discrimination, both by appointing a person responsible for implementing these principles and by integrating these themes into all educational sessions.

Key activities implemented by FITT within SPOT:

Developing a county-level youth network that will bring together AJOFM, FITT, and other relevant actors (local authorities, NGOs, educational institutions) to provide tailored services for young people.
Training youth staff through training sessions and mentoring for youth workers, counselors, and experts.
Identifying and recruiting the target group through visits to communities, mobile youth centers, online campaigns, and collaborations with local partners.
Retaining and motivating young people through individualized counseling, personal and professional development workshops, volunteering, civic initiatives, and community events.
Developing cross-cutting skills: from social and emotional skills, leadership, financial and legal education, to mental health, civic engagement, and entrepreneurship.
Creating an active community of young people, with spaces dedicated to socializing, learning, and personal development.
Information and awareness campaigns, through online and offline channels, to promote available opportunities and combat the risks of social exclusion.

A partnership for the future of young people in Timiș

AJOFM Timiș is the coordinator, while FITT is the partner in the project, which is the result of a solid partnership between the public and non-governmental sectors, in which FITT brings its experience and expertise in working with young people, and AJOFM Timiș provides institutional support and expertise in the field of employment.
